The role and role of the Alumni Association of Universitas Airlangga (IKA-UA) in the community is increasingly felt, this is evidenced by the implementation of various programs that touch the community and help the government in accelerating vaccination.
Today IKA-UA held a pesantren cruising program by carrying out vaccinations of a thousand santri located at SMA DU 2 and SMPN 3 peterongan. In addition to vaccinations, there is also a package of assistance packages to rickshaw brothers and the community around pesantren. (14/08/2021)
In addition to being attended by family and regional board members and IKA-UA Central Board, this activity was also attended by the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa accompanied by the Regent of Jombang and the Board of Leaders of Pondok Darul Ulum Rejoso Peterongan Jombang.
The Governor of East Java who is also chairman of IKA-UA, Khofifah Indar Parawansa said, the acceleration of vaccination cooperation between IKA Unair and various parties aims to achieve the target of 70 percent of East Java people vaccinated as of this August. So that in August as well as the Month of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia has formed herd immunity.
Vice Chairman of the Central Board of IKA-UA Dr. dr. H.M Zulfikar As’ad, M.MR – Gus Ufik. IKA-UA has very sufficient resources in the field of health but nevertheless needs synergy with various parties. According to him, with strong synergy and collaboration, between IKA UA, Hospitals, district and provincial governments, and pesantren and the community can provide broad benefits. Gus Ufik who is also Vice Rector of Unipdu Jombang andKetua ARSINU.
The chairman of the vaccination program, dr.M. Sjarifuddin, SpM., MMR and chairman of IKA-UA Jombang Region said the selection of this activity was a form of bringing IKA Unair closer in the midst of community problems, namely, helping the government in bringing closer access to vaccine distribution to the community, especially santri.
IKA UA continues to synergize with various parties, including in the successful vaccination acceleration program in Pesantren. In this activity IKA-UA cooperates with Unipdu Medika Hospital, Jombang Islamic Hospital, Airlangga Jombang Hospital, Peterongan Health Center as its vaccine, From educational institutions other than SMA DU 2 Flagship BPPT, SMPN 3 Peterongan and Unipdu Jombang.
